Nestled in the Midtown region of Manhattan, the Flatiron District obtained its name from the Flatiron Building, a New York City landmark. Fifth Avenue and Broadway create a unique angle that inspired the triangular shape of the building. Photographers’ studios lined the area before it was named the Flatiron District, and some New Yorkers still refer to the area as the Photo District. One of the most notable features of the Flatiron District is Madison Square Park located between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue. The Shake Shack is located at Madison Square Park and is a New York City institution.

Upland is an Italian restaurant inspired by Mediterranean cuisine and California’s culture with three-course meals. The 40/40 Club is an upscale, casual restaurant with finger foods and three-course meals. The Little Beet Table is a healthy option with fresh ingredients, plant-based fare, and a fantastic weekend brunch. Eataly has it all — gourmet meals, a market packed with fresh ingredients and pantry must-haves, and a robust selection of cooking classes so that you can create delectable dishes at home.
 
One of the cultural institutions of New York City, Strand Bookstore, is located in the Flatiron district. It contains used and rare books and hosts literary events throughout the year. Madison Square Park is one of the most popular parks in New York City. Events are always happening where you can find artists, performers, and musicians in the park every day.
